Our first date was at a wine bar in Denver. Nick was living in Colorado Springs and had been for about a year after moving from NYC to buy a woodworking business. Cait was living in Denver with friends and working as a therapist.
Having met via a dating app the anticipation for a first date is always how is this gonna go? ...
Well, 6 hours, 2 bottles of wine and a lot of smiles later we would agree it was the best first date either of us had. And it would be the last. Cait promptly told all her girlfriends by the end of the night that she had met the man she was going to marry.
In 2020 right as the world was locking down we moved in together in a gorgeous apartment in Colorado Springs. For 2 years Cait would commute the hour long drive back forth to Denver (working in residential treatment had no WFH privileges in COVID times).
A few months into our new place, we got our first child - Pancho the python.
Alta joined the family 4 years later :)
